![]() ![]() SIZES: USEFUL GUIDELINES & CHARTS When choosing a gown don’t make the mistake of simply ordering what ‘you think’ your current dress size is. Always consult the measuring charts below and consider carefully that you have chosen the correct size, which will fit comfortably. Most ball and bridal gowns are designed to be customised for a perfect fit. It is always better to order a larger size and if necessary, with minimal cost, your dress can be made to look perfect by a small nip and tuck here or there. These simple alterations can generally be made by any good local seamstress or dressmaker. You should find them listed in your Yellow Pages. To offer an example of charges, the dressmaker who we recommend to our local customers makes a charge of £8-£10 for a hem and a similar price for taking in seams on bodices and skirts, depending on fabric and detail beads, sequins, etc). EXTRA SHORT or LONG LENGTH If you feel that your order is not a standard length and that alteration would affect the design, simply contact our advisory service before ordering, either by phone 01803 200305 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
